Proposed Order: to close that part of U64211 Astley from its junction with B4196 Astley to its junction with U64212 Weather Ln.

Reason: New customer connection by Severn Trent Water

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: U64211 Astley Burf, B4196 Astley, U64212 Bull Hill, U64212 Weather Ln, U64211 Astley Burf and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 3 days Commencing: 5 May 2025

Proposed Order: to close that part of A451 Dunley from its junction with U64217 Dark Ln to its junction with junction with C2276 Dunley.

Reason: Electricity cable replacement by National Grid

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

No access for emergency services. Must follow diversion route.

Stourport on Severn Brass Band

Brass band

Come, relax and have fun with neighbours family and friends at our village Christmas Celebration. The band will play popular festive tunes and singalong carols to entertain all the family and if mulled wine and mince pies are not your thing feel free to bring along your own festive food and drink.

The event is sponsored by the Parish Council so entry is free but donations will be collected in aid of Acorn Children’s Hospice.

A Date for the Diary – Tuesday 10th December 7 00pm

As we move into November thoughts will soon be turning towards Christmas and already in the village hall various groups are preparing their Christmas events. However, following a number of suggestions to the Parish Council we have agreed to organise a Christmas Celebration for the whole community. We talked of Mulled Wine, Mince Pies and Carols but also what better way to celebrate Christmas than a Brass Band. So on Tuesday 10th December in Astley village hall we will have a Christmas Celebration evening featuring the Stourport on Severn Brass Band. It will be a fun evening with popular festive tunes and singalong carols to entertain all the family and of course Mulled Wine, Mince Pies. So put the date in the diary for this free event which will be in support of Acorn Children’s Hospice.

Miller Homes Meeting – Areley Common Astley

Miller Homes will be providing 145 high-quality homes at land off Areley Common, Astley.

 

You are invited to a meeting with representatives of Miller Homes, their drainage engineers and the County Council’s Flood Risk Management Team for them to explain the surface water drainage details for the development and answer any questions you may have.

 

The meeting will take place at Astley & Dunley Village Hall, Ridleys Cross, Astley, DY13 0RE at 6.30pm on Wednesday 13th November 2024.
