(C2239 Astley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2239 Astley from its junction with U64212 Astley to its junction with A451 Yarhampton

Reason: Utility works by STW

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: C2239 Yarhampton, A451 Yarhampton, A451 Stourport Rd, B4197 Great Witley, A443 Worcester Rd, A443 Witley Rd, B4196 Holt Heath, B4196 Shrawley, B4196 Astley, U64212 Astley, C2239 Astley (part) and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 2 days Commencing: 18 April 2026

(C2239 Yarhampton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

Proposed Order: to close that part of C2239 Yarhampton from a point of 302 metres east of its junction with A451 Dunley for a distance of 100 metres in an easterly direction.

Reason: Utility work by Openreach

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: A451 Dunley, A451 Dunley Rd, B4194 Pearl Ln, B4196 Astley, C2239 Astley, C2239 Yarhampton (part) and vice versa.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 1 day Commencing: 8 April 2026

(Footpaths SV-530, Stourport-on-Severn & AD-522, Astley and Dunley) (Temporary Closure Order) 2026

Proposed Order: to close Footpaths SV-530, Stourport-on-Severn & AD-522, Astley and Dunley from their Junction with A451 Stourport Rd at grid ref: 379323, 269919 to their Junction with B4194 Pearl Ln at grid ref: 379787, 269849.

The Order has been made due to a housing development.

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises having a frontage to the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the necessary works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: A451 Stourport Rd, B4194 Pearl Ln.

The proposed Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months or until the works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the Order will only be operative for 6 months commencing on 19 February 2026.

           ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(2) (as amended)

 

                                       WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

 

Notice of closure of Footpaths AD-559, AD-556, AD-557 Astley & Dunley and AY-575,

AY-576 Abberley, Worcestershire

(“the highway”) as an Emergency Measure.

 

 

It appears to Worcestershire County Council that because of the likelihood of danger to the public as a result of dangerous bridges, there is an urgent need to close the highway immediately in the following terms: –

 

1. The effect of the Notice is that no person shall proceed along the entire length of Footpaths AD-559, AD-556, AD-557 in Astley & Dunley and AY-575, AY-576 in Abberley, from footpath junctions AD-555, AD-560 (Grid Ref: 377415, 268608) to  footpath junctions AY-570 & AY-571 (Grid Ref: 377283, 268998) and footpath junctions AY-571 & AY-572 (Grid Ref: 377407, 269006).

 

2. This provision shall continue in force for a maximum of 21 days (unless further provision is made for its continuance). It is anticipated that it will remain in force for 21 days.

 

3. Alternative route: There is no alternative route available.

Nothing in this Notice shall prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the highway, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from the highway.
