Following the success of the Coronation event and the Harvest Picnic last year the Parish Council is organising a Summer Fete at Astley Village Hall in June. This will be a fun event for all the family with traditional games such as “Hoopla”, “Splat the Rat”, “Tin Can Knock Down” and of course “Welly Wanging”. There will be plenty of tea and cake with music and fun for all ages around the maypole. You can meet some of the village organisations and this year even play table tennis or practice some Tai Chi. There will be vintage cars on display from Morris and Triumph and plenty of activities for children of all ages including sunflower planting and pot decorating and a raffle. This is a free event with all proceeds in aid of the Air Ambulance. So put it in the diary and come along to celebrate summer with friends, neighbours, and family.
