Harvest Picnic

Following the success of the Coronation Lunch we are organising..

Astley & Dunley Harvest Picnic
Saturday the 16th September – 1 – 5pm, Astley Village Hall

There will be tea and coffee, crafts, and games, bunting and balloons and an opportunity to meet with some
of the other village organisations. The hall will be decorated for harvest with possibly a scarecrow or two in
attendance. Bring along your own favourite picnic treats for lunch and if you are so inclined there will be a
prize for the best dressed scarecrow of the afternoon.
Harvest is traditionally a time for sharing so there will be a Bring and Share table where anyone who wants
can bring along harvest produce such as fruit and vegetables from their gardens, jams, preserves, cake, tinned
food, crafts or in fact anything they want to share. During the afternoon the table will be opened for everyone
to help themselves in exchange for a donation to the event charity so please bring some cash with you.
All proceeds will go to the event charity and any leftover produce will be given to the local food bank.
We are pleased to announce that during the afternoon Beatrice Grant, The Lord – Lieutenant of
Worcestershire will join us to plant a tree and unveil a plaque that was commissioned to commemorate
the coronation of King Charles III. There will be something for everyone to enjoy so do come and join us
for fun and friendship with neighbours and friends.
There is no charge for this event, and all are welcome but so we have an idea of numbers could you please
let us know if you intend to join us by Monday 11th September. All we need is the number of adults and
the number of children.
